For the days that matter, spend it with Matterhorn FOCUS
Built into the side of the Swiss mountains, at the end of an impressive tunnel leading up to the entrance of the glass elevator, the Design Matterhorn Focus was an impressive sight.
The architecture is on point
On arrival we were met by Patriczia the hotel manager, who showed us the facilities and explained the background to the hotel. A four star superior design hotel, Focus Matterhorn was designed by Heinz Julen, a renowned architect who has mixed lifestyle and art with nature. This creates a welcoming space which feels part of the mountains, whilst also still capturing the comfort and luxury of the experience of a hotel stay.
The interior is so amazing
Patricia introduced us to the hotel bar and restaurant whilst friendly staff took our bags up to the rooms (allowing us to check in early), and we were presented with a glass of prosecco whilst we waited and looked out at the stunning view of the Matterhorn mountain.
The view is perfection
We were taken to our designer bedroom suite, complete with one way glass, fabulously large and comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, and grande sofa.
I cannot impress on you the astonishing, stunning and awe inspiring view of the Matterhorn Mountain from our hotel room. It was utterly breathtaking especially since the outside of the room was mostly glass and we had a direct view. We could see the mist, the snow, the change of lighting, all of the developments and changes of the day across the landmark.
We had such a comfy stay
The main entrance of the hotel led out to nearby the Cable Car Facility taking Ski enthusiasts up into the Alps, which we could also see travelling up towards the mountain from our hotel room.
It is geographically perfect for our needs
Then there was the Spa and Wellbeing centre. A relaxing indoor and outdoor pool (with Jacuzzi wave features), steam room, sauna, and massage area, it was special comfort. My most favourite and memorable activity of the hotel was using the steam room facilities which truly did me the world of good after a busy and eventful day.
It was so relaxing
The breakfasts were buffet style, with an excellent selection of available well presented food. Different local cheeses and breads, fruits, bacon, eggs, hams, nuts, cereals, drinks, coffees, teas, and all you could really ask for.
Food is impeccable
Our whole experience here was highly enjoyable, and if you are thinking of somewhere with easy access to skiing, Zermatt, the Matterhorn mountain and train station, then Design Matterhorn Focus Hotel is the place to stay.
The service is at its highest standard
I cant fault a single bit on the service. It is at its highest standard. What made it special is it was my birthday and they surprised me with a cake and bottle of champagne, and noone told them about it. Its this little things that make it very special. For the days that matter, spend it with Focus.
